With our Verification of Citation Sources option, we look up the sources in your citations to check them for any
omitted or inaccurate information.
Most omitted information includes: issue numbers, page numbers, additional
authors/editors, subtitles, edition numbers, author's initials, etc.
Most inaccurate information includes: invalid or insufficient URLs, DOI numbers,
listing order of authors, spelling, or more up-to-date information (such as a previously unpublished dissertation
that is now published).
Most significantly, though, when we verify sources, we find precisely what type of source
it is. Many times this requires us to reformat the citation accordingly. For example, if a client has formatted a
citation to look like a book, we may look it up to find that the source is actually a government issue brief that
appeared in a handbook, therefore requiring a different format.
Whatever omission or inaccuracy we find with our Verification of Citation Sources option, we will
make the correction and ensure the citation is formatted appropriately.
