We have developed our editing and proofreading services to help you make your document the best it can be. We have written this privacy statement in order for you to understand what information we will collect and why we will collect it.
We take your privacy seriously. We will never ask for more information than what we need to do our job, and we will never pass whatever information we do need to a third party. We will keep confidential whatever information and material(s) you give us.
As part of the submission process, you will provide us with certain information (e.g. your name, email address and phone number) and files (e.g. files to be edited) relevant to your project. The information and files you provide will be kept on our password-protected server, to which only DLA Editors & Proofers' editors and programmers have access.
No one other than one of DLA Editors & Proofers' in-house editors will work on your project. We will not outsource any of the work on your project.
After we finish your project, we will keep a copy of your edited files, as well as any reference files associated with your project, on our password-protected server for thirty (30) calendar days. After thirty (30) calendar days, these files will be automatically deleted.
We treat all project files as highly confidential. In other words we will never disclose these files to anyone without your express written authorization, unless obliged to do so by a court order.
If you are concerned there might be information in your documents or files which you would not like for us to see, please remove that information before sending your documents or files to us. This should not affect our editing and proofreading abilities, and may be done by replacing said text with the use of a common letter (e.g. "XXXX"). In this way we will know where something (such as your name or telephone number) has been omitted.
We will never disclose a client's or prospective client's contact information without the client's express written authorization, unless obliged to do so by a court order. We collect this information for the purposes only of providing the highest quality services available.
We may from time to time send marketing or other non-project-related emails to our clients or prospective clients. Recipients of these emails may opt out of these emails by using the unsubscribe link found in the bottom of the email message. Clients may also opt out by updating their communication preferences in My Account.
We use PayPal® (www.paypal.com) exclusively for the processing of all credit/debit card payments. This includes all credit/debit card payments made online or over the phone.
The only one who will ever see, or ask for, any of your private financial information will be the operator you authorize to process your payment for you. This operator will ask only for the information necessary for processing your payment and, unless you direct the operator to do otherwise, will not retain any of this information after the payment is processed.
When you direct us to keep your credit/debit card infomration on file, we keep only the card type, name on the card, last four digits of the card number, and the card's expiration date. The rest of the information, including the full card number, is stored in PayPal's® secure system, to which we have only indirect access.
Questions and concerns regarding your privacy may be directed via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
